How do I schedule Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.x.x for Windows 2000/XP to run LiveUpdate automatically to download new virus definitions?
Important:
- ITSU highly recommends that you install the latest version of Symantec (Norton) AntiVirus. A Symantec AntiVirus download is available at no charge for current Virginia Tech students, faculty, staff, and retirees only from the Symantec AntiVirus Downloads page (http://antivirus.vt.edu/download/).
- In order to run LiveUpdate, you must log on with an account with computer administrator privileges or power user privileges.
To schedule LiveUpdate to run automatically:
- Start Symantec AntiVirus.
- From the File menu, select Schedule Updates.
- Place a check in the Enable Scheduled Automatic Updates check box.
- Click the Schedule button.
- Select the Daily option.
- From the At drop-down list, select a time of day when your computer would typically be running.
- Click OK.
- In the Schedule Virus Definition Updates window, click OK.
- Click the Exit button.
