ITSU does not support or take responsibility with the following:
- Computer systems not owned by the supported departments in The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech
- Personal home network services such as Comcast, Charter, SuddenLink or other networking equipment used for personal home use.
- Microsoft Windows (any version) installed on Apple computers (this includes Parallel’s and Bootcamp)
- Lost data due to a hard drive malfunction
- Linux, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium, Windows NT 4, or any Server applications.
- Personal files/music files on Virginia Tech owned computers
- Lost data during a file transfer. You are responsible for having all data/email backed up prior to a file transfer request.
- Labs or other public computer access areas
- Visiting faculty computers owned by other institutions (this includes anyone that generates their own funding.
- Supporting applications which are not supported by Virginia Tech (ITSU can assist with installation, but will not support beyond the install process)
- Banner (please contact 4-HELP for assistance with this program)
- Warranty repairs (this will be done by the vendor). Computer will be taken to authorized repair center or technical support will be dispatched to the central ITSU office.
- Monitor repairs (ITSU can diagnose and troubleshoot, but can only recommend replacements for non-warranty covered monitors)
ITSU does not supply equipment for any departments. This includes computers, printer cartridges, printers, keyboards, mice, floppy disks, CD ROMS, power cables, or network cables.
