How to Set a Mac OS 10 Machine to use the VT Ethernet
| Before a Virginia Tech will allow a computer to access the internet via DHCP the Hardware Address must be registered with the Network Liaison. Once the Hardware Address is registered the following directions will show you how to configure the Mac to use DHCP. | ||||||||||

| Go to the Apple Menu and select "System Preferences..." This will bring up the following windows. |

| In the "System Preferences" window you will select "Network" This will take you to the Network Settings. |

| When you open the Network Settings window click on the TCP/IP tab. Also make sure that you select "Built-in Ethernet" in the "Show:" box Next select "Using DHCP" in the "Configure:" box Click the "Apply Now" button at the bottom and close the Network and System Preferences boxes. Start up the web browser and see if it connects. If it does not want to connect restart the machine and then try the web browser again. |
