Once you have installed Eudora and are ready to put the users email back onto their computer, you will need to go back to where you have backed up the data.
- Open the new Eudora folder in one window and then the old Eudora folder in another window.
- Next copy all of the following files from the old Eudora folder and put them into the new folder, replacing any files that currently exist:
- Eudora.ini (PC) or Eudora Settings (Mac)
- Nndbase.txt (PC) Eudora Nicknames (Mac)
- Rcpdbase.txt (PC) Eudora Recipients (Mac)
- Filters.pce (PC) Eudora Filters (Mac)
- *.mbx (PC) Just mailbox name (Mac)
- *.toc (PC)
- *.fol (PC) Just the Folder Name (Mac)
- sigs folder (PC) Signature Folder (Mac)
- Copy the folder where they are storing all of their attachments. This could be in the "attach" folder located in the Eudora folder or a folder someplace else.
- Next close all windows and open up Eudora to see if all of the messages are there.
- Finally check the setting in Eudora to make sure that the mail servers are correctly set and that the attachments go to the correct folder.
